Fine Detail Graphics Painting
In this blog post, we partner with a local company and increase our ability to paint finer graphics.
This article describes how we do small and fine graphics printing. If you do not want to read the article, you can scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to see the summary video.
We Paint Graphics
We are often asked “Can you re-create the factory logos on my bike?” or “How do you make the stickers for your logos?”. The answers are, yes we can paint on the original graphics, and no we do not use stickers, hardly ever. We prefer to paint our graphics because they allow us to achieve a higher quality finish that will give you a smile on your face whenever you see your bike.
High-Res Graphics
Here at Cleveland Carbon, we create stencil masks that allow us to lay paint in graphics and patterns. These stencil masks are cut with a special printer with a knife. We upload files that we create on the computer, a nd the printer cuts out the graphics that we design. For larger graphics, we use our little Cricut Cutter. I stole this from my wife a few years ago when I painted my bike, and it has been serving us ever since. We are able to cut and paint all of your heat tube badges, town tube graphics, and large graphics with the Cricut.
The problem with the Cricut, however, is that it was not able to cut fine details. To solve this problem, we have partnered with a local company called FastSigns. FastSigns has some high-precision equipment that help us cut significantly smaller graphics. Check out the photos in this post to see what we can do. Note that these are all painted graphics, no stickers whatsoever.
If you like what you see and you would like to have some high-res graphics painted onto your bike, let us know and we can get the ball rolling. If you already have graphic files for us, send them our way. If you want us to take care of the graphic design for you we can do that as well!
What About Cost?
Large graphics are included in the cost of every custom paint job. For reference, a large graphic is any text that has letters greater than 3/4 inches in height, such as the manufacturer logos, head tube badge, and the frame model name. A high-res graphic is anything that is “small” with dimensions like the graphics in the picture in this blog post. Now that you know what size defines “high-res”, we can talk about cost. We will add only $75 to the cost of your paint job if you have high-res graphics to be printed. In the end, you are supporting two small businesses with this type of service!
Ok, I think that covers most of the things that you may be concerned with. If you have any remaining questions, feel free to send us an email inquiry. We are very responsive and are here at your service!
