Carbon composites are repairable, and it is not new technology, in fact, it is common practice in the aeronautics and wind generation industries. Components such as helicopter blades and wind turbine blades are repaired to reduce cost and increase service time of components. The process of carbon composite repair begins with determining the compromised area and then repairing that area with a composite layup that replicates the original design that the composites engineer implemented.
